Article 9 was developed and maintained by the Department of Economic Security (DES) and The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) in Arizona. Instruction for Article 9 covers various topics, including individual rights and rules regarding teaching safe and effective communication methods, abuse, and neglect. Teaching and training cover techniques for positive behavior support, prohibited techniques, confidentiality, consent, and reporting and documentation methods.
